A luminous artwork in blue of extraordinary significance, inspired by the song of the same name by Roberto Vecchioni, whose lyrics—entirely in the Milanese dialect—tell the story of a factory worker who becomes the voice of the complexities of the world he lives in and the hardships of his daily life.
In addition to its musical inspiration, Marco Lodola created the piece after watching Matteo Garrone’s cinematic masterpiece Io Capitano. A raw and direct film, it leaves little room for interpretation, guiding everyone toward a single word: awareness.
The artist says that, while creating the work, he imagined “a wave of people in motion, crossing the desert and the sea in search of a better life. A blue human wave in perpetual movement.”
An Odyssey of souls, setting out in search of something: a place, a new life, with the hope of a better future.
Made of aluminum and LED tubes, the artwork is composed of 7 pieces.
