FLAVIO FAVELLI
HOTEL SAVOIA
Join us on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm for a unique event in collaboration with Gruppo Iren.
Location: Arbarello Primary Transformation Substation (entrance at Via Bertola 48/bis).
This project offers a rare opportunity to visit a hidden and extraordinary site in the heart of the city: a monumental underground space transformed for two days into an extraordinary project space for contemporary art.
The collaboration between Gruppo Iren and Luci d’Artista continues with a new project featuring Flavio Favelli, who presents a site-specific light installation inside the Arbarello Primary Transformation Substation in Piazza Arbarello. Built and operated by IRETI – Gruppo Iren, it is Turin’s largest underground electrical substation. Located approximately 20 metres below ground, the space becomes a project room dedicated to artistic experimentation with light, hosting an intervention by one of the featured artists of the 29th edition of Luci d’Artista. The project creates a dialogue between contemporary art and technological infrastructure.
Flavio Favelli has long established himself on the Italian and international art scenes through his practice of reusing and reclaiming materials from the past, drawing on their connections to collective memory.
